During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jay and his team of pharmacists faced a challenge. They had invested heavily in setting up a COVID-19 testing lab, but when it came time to launch, they had trouble setting up the appointment and record-keeping systems. Jay had previously had bad experiences with developers who charged high fees but failed to deliver on complex workflow requirements.

Launching appointments in 5 days

Jay and his team needed a functional appointment system urgently. Despite the extremely tight deadline, we understood their situation and committed to burning the midnight oil and working weekends to deploy a basic appointment system. Jay's team was able to begin scheduling appointments in just five days as a result.

The Start of Vida Health Services

As appointments began to roll in, the need for documenting tests, generating lab reports, and handling vaccination documentation became evident. We quickly developed the first version of Vida Health Services to meet their documentation and compliance needs. Recognizing the importance of healthcare data privacy, Given the sensitivity of healthcare data, we made sure that all security aspects are handled carefully.

This deployment and initiative enabled Vida Health Services generate a revenue of around $600K as per Jay’s testimonial.

The Rise of BookRx and Rebranding

Vida Health Services proved successful, enabling significant revenue for Jay's team. We continued to support Vida by addressing their feature requests and improving the platform.

Inspired by the success, Jay wanted to extend this in-house software to other pharmacies to serve their appointment, website and compliance requirements, leading to the birth of BookRx. Over two years, we built hundreds of features, enhanced user experiences, and supported over 100 pharmacies in Canada, including partnerships with major labels.
